APAC Regional Webinar: From Breakdown to Opportunities: Medtech powers rapid Recovery from COVID-19

May 19, 2020 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

COVID-19 has disrupted the supply chain of critical medical supplies and calls for action around the globe to accelerate innovation for treatment and a vaccine, as well as to ramp up production to help save lives.

It also reveals the serious shortfall of the current health care infrastructure, level of manpower, and capacity. All governments around the world need to accelerate local innovation and medical technology development to rapidly expand the health care infrastructure with distributed manufacturing and supply chain improvements.

These changes are happening against a backdrop of a new era of digital innovation that has driven the global medical device industry to a value of USD500 billion in 2018. Asia Pacific has exceeded the EU as the world’s No. 2 market, with a value of over USD138 billion. MedTech 4.0 (Industry 4.0) can become the paradigm shift needed to propel the innovators to become world leaders in the industry.

How will medtech companies and regulators respond to build the health care infrastructure for tomorrow with artificial intelligence, robotics, genome therapy, IIoT (the industrial internet of things), additive manufacturing, and increasing health care investment?
